How AshBid works

AshBid is a price tracker for CigarBid auctions. It records what every lot actually sells for, so you know the going rate for a cigar before you place a bid.

Tracking CigarBid since October 11, 2026. Every record low, record high and average on AshBid counts from that day.

Where the numbers come from

About once a minute AshBid reads CigarBid's public auction listings. Each lot is grouped with the other lots of the same CigarBid product, so a box of 20 and a 5-pack of the same cigar are tracked separately. Shortly after a lot closes, AshBid records its final price (the winning bid, before shipping and taxes) and updates that cigar's average, lowest and highest sale.

Reading a cigar's page

  • Avg close: the average final price across every recorded sale of that cigar and pack size.
  • Lowest / Highest: the cheapest and most expensive recorded sales.
  • Per stick: the price divided by the number of cigars, for comparing pack sizes.
  • Typical range: where 80% of sales closed. Bidding near the low end saves the most.
  • Deal ratings: live lots bidding well below the average close are marked Great deal or Good deal.

Frequently asked questions

What is AshBid?

AshBid is an independent price tracker for CigarBid.com, the cigar auction site. It records the final selling price of every lot it sees, so you can check what a cigar usually sells for before you bid.

Where does the price data come from?

AshBid checks CigarBid's public auction listings about once a minute and records each lot's final price shortly after it closes. Prices are in US dollars and are the winning bid, before shipping and taxes.

What does "Avg close" mean?

The average final price of every recorded sale of the same cigar and pack size. Lowest and Highest are the cheapest and most expensive recorded sales.

How are deal ratings worked out?

A live lot is a Great deal when its current bid is at least 40% below that cigar's average close, and a Good deal when it is at least 20% below. A cigar needs at least two recorded sales before it gets ratings.

What is the typical range?

The middle of the price spread: 80% of recorded sales closed between the two numbers shown (the 10th to 90th percentile). Bidding near the low end wins less often but saves the most.

What is the per-stick price?

The lot price divided by the number of cigars in the box or pack, so you can compare a 5-pack with a box of 20.

How do I get a better deal on CigarBid?

Look up the cigar on AshBid first and bid inside its typical range, ideally near the low end. Compare per-stick prices across pack sizes, check whether it sells for less on weekdays or weekends, and watch the cigars you want so you hear when one sells cheaply.

How do price alerts work?

Watch a cigar and set a target price. When one sells at or below that price, AshBid notifies you on the site, and by email when email alerts are switched on.

What is the FreeFall Tracker?

A free bookmarklet for CigarBid FreeFall auctions, where the price drops until someone buys. It tracks the live price, lets you set a target price per tab and can buy automatically when the target is reached.

Is AshBid free?

Yes. Every feature is free right now. A free account adds a watchlist, favorites and price alerts.

Is AshBid affiliated with CigarBid?

No. AshBid is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CigarBid.com.
